Preparing the Next Cycle: Towards decarbonization of the iron and steel industry

As in many jurisdictions worldwide, Quebec’s fight against climate change has driven the province’s transition to renewable energy. This energy transition seeks to reduce consumption and society’s dependence on fossil fuels to lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Not only is the iron and steel industry involved in the decarbonization race, but it is also developing solutions to reduce the sector’s environmental footprint and GHG emissions. Several Canadian producers are looking to become leaders in the emerging market for green iron and steel producers.
